South Africa President Cyril Ramaphosa Visits Expo 2023 Doha

In a remarkable display of international collaboration and cultural exchange, His Excellency President Cyril Ramaphosa of the Republic of South Africa graced Expo 2023 Doha with his esteemed presence. Accompanied by Qatar's Minister of Municipality, His Excellency Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, and Expo 2023 Doha Secretary General, Eng. Mohammed Ali Alkhoori, the visit highlighted the strengthening relationship between South Africa and Qatar.

The tour began with His Excellency President Ramaphosa and His Excellency Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie visiting various country pavilions, showcasing the latest innovations and cultural exhibits from around the world. A significant moment of the visit was at the Qatari Pavilion, where His Excellency President Ramaphosa participated in a tree-planting ceremony. The planting of the Sidr tree, a species revered in Qatari culture for endurance, prosperity, and growth, mirrors the aspirations of both South Africa and Qatar in their bilateral relations.

His Excellency President Ramaphosa's engagement symbolises Expo 2023 Doha's role as a global catalyst for fostering international partnerships centred around ecological responsibility and sustainable development.
