December 05, 2023

The International Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha celebrated International Volunteer Day by recognizing and honoring 2,500 volunteers whose roles were vital in the execution of Expo 2023 Doha. Volunteers play a pivotal role in delivering an outstanding experience for visitors by offering guidance, information, and assistance to ensure that visitors reach their desired destinations with ease. They also play a key part in the execution of Expo 2023 Doha programs, events, and activities. Distributed across the International Zone, Cultural Zone, and Family Zone, the 2,500 volunteers diligently guide visitors and provide specialized services for seniors and individuals with disabilities.

In an effort to express deep gratitude towards their volunteers, the Expo 2023 Doha organizing committee orchestrated a celebratory event on December 5th, 2023. The event, hosted in Expo Theater in the Cultural Arena, featured live music, roaming performances, dancing from the volunteers, gifts, a prize draw, and more. The volunteers expressed joy during the appreciation event, reaffirming their dedication to Expo 2023 Doha 's success and their commitment to enhancing visitors' experiences. Volunteering at Expo 2023 Doha is seen as an opportunity to reinforce the spirit of community service, giving back to the community, gaining new skills in program organization, and actively taking part in diverse events and activities.

International Volunteer Day, observed annually on December 5th since its establishment by the UN in 1985, serves as a global celebration to express gratitude to volunteers for their contributions and to highlight their impactful role in communities worldwide.
