Qatar International Food Festival 2024 Took Expo 2023 Doha by Storm!

Under the auspices of Visit Qatar and the Ministry of Tourism, Qatar’s longest running food festival kicked off at Expo 2023 Doha in Al Bidda park. This year’s rendition was carefully curated to feature a mouth-watering assortment of delicacies sourced from the world’s finest cuisines in addition to riveting entertainment experiences on Expo 2023 Doha grounds. Food enthusiasts and entertainment seekers alike indulged in a constellation of activities that catered to visitors from all walks of life whilst delving into a melting pot of culinary discoveries. 

Expo 2023 and QIFF visitors were treated to unique cooking experiences and theatres, nightly fireworks shows and live entertainment which left an indelible mark amongst many. In keeping with Expo 2023 core significance, the Qatar International Food Festival stood as a platform where varying cultural influences converged to confer and explore in a shared spirit of mutual curiosity and respect.

The QIFF 2024 had a particular undertone as it honoured the Qatar-Moroccan 2024 year of culture which featured popular chefs and personalities from the world of international gastronomy underscoring the importance of cultural exchange, a key ingredient that deepens understanding between nations and their people.

Against a backdrop of intensifying droughts and climate insecurities, the QIFF 2024 was yet another opportune occasion to shed light on the theme of food insecurity and its ramifications in the GCC region and the world alike. In light of these changes, the State of Qatar has announced that it was on the threshold of developing a new food security strategy for the 2024-2030 period that will focus on innovative solutions and sustainable systems to boost the country’s agricultural sector and ensure food security.
