Saudi Arabia’s Day Celebrations at Expo 2023 Doha

January 05, 2024

The year 2024 kicked off with a captivating start at Expo 2023 Doha as it played host to the “Saudi Day” event in the presence of the Saudi Vice Minister of the Environment, H.E. Eng. Mansour bin Hilal Al Mushaiti, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the State of Qatar HH Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan Al Saud, and a host of distinguished Expo 2023 representatives, among them the Minister of Municipality, H.E. Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, and H.E. Bader Omar Al Dafa, Expo 2023 Doha Commissioner-General.

The commemorations made their debut with a flag-raising ceremony in the vicinity of the Expo 2023 House. Both Qatari and Saudi national flags were raised to the tune of respective national anthems, followed by a series of traditional Saudi folklore performances including the Ardha dance, showcasing Saudi Arabia’s rich and diverse cultural heritage.

Invitees were later ferried to the Saudi Arabian pavilion, a beacon of modernity at the heart of the international zone, which featured cutting-edge technologies providing an immersive and enriching experience to all visitors seeking to learn more about the nation’s latest achievements in sustainability and its transition to cleaner energy.

The commemoration was an opportune occasion to reiterate the historical ties that bind the brotherly nations as they tackle head-on the transition to sustainable energies with a spirit of collaboration in the field of technologies, research and development, and food security.
