Al Thakira, also known as Al Dhakira, is among Qatar’s oldest and largest mangrove forests. These native trees thrive in briny water and can withstand extreme temperatures. It’s a unique ecosystem that attracts birds, fish and crustaceans throughout the year, and can be easily reached by car from Doha – although in an offroad vehicle.
