Celebrating Türkiye National Day at Expo 2023 Doha

Expo 2023 Doha played host to Türkiye’s National Day, showcasing a treasure trove of cultural artefacts, and putting into practice its unique hospitality credentials, in a gilded setting reminiscent of the country’s illustrious history.

Apart from drawing in swathes of the Turkish community, the celebration saw His Excellency Mohammed Ali Al Khoori, Secretary General of Expo Doha 2023; His Excellency Dr Mustafa Goksu, ambassador of Türkiye to Qatar; His Excellency Mehmet Ali Kilichakya, director-general of Exports at Türkiye Ministry of Trade and ambassadors, converging to the Türkiye pavilion to mark the celebration in unison and reiterate the importance of the bilateral relationship.

Commenting on the occasion, His Excellency Mohammed Ali Al Khoori, the Secretary General of Expo 2023 Doha, highlighted the attractive investment opportunities within Turkish agriculture, spanning sectors like agricultural technology, stockbreeding, aquaculture, seed production and greenhouses.

Standing as one of the finest pavilions in Expo 2023 Doha, the site offered an immersive journey of the country’s unique charm and its global influence. The pavilion was meticulously designed to embody Türkiye’s diverse heritage, vibrant culture, and progressive outlook through a unique blend of traditional and contemporary elements in its architectural design.

The celebration had a particular tone as it brought forth the deep historical ties that bind the State of Qatar and Türkiye and the many sectors in which both countries collaborate, chief of which is the food and agricultural sector.

Captivating performances such as Turkish folk dances were delivered as well as workshops featuring aromatic fragrances and arts such as calligraphy, paper marbling and illumination which added an interactive dimension to the celebration.
